If you've been an avid fan or just a regular viewer of The Vampire Diaries for the past 5 years, then you have witnessed Elena Gilbert's conflicting emotion for the Salvatore brothers and how she shifted from one hot Salvatore brother to another. I know that each one of you have taken sides, may it be #TeamStefan or #TeamDamon, but now that we are down to season 6 and Nina Dobrev's last 2 episodes, I want to support my claim on why Stefan is the better choice and rant on why Stelena should be the endgame.
1. Stelena gives you all the feels!
I lose it and I know you lose it too, everytime Stefan and Elena would stare at each other's eyes and whisper sweet nothings to each other, or everytime they would hug each other tight or everytime they would vow to love each other forever. Seeing the kind of love that they have for each other would make you want to look for that kind of love for yourself.
2. Stelena always fought for each other!
Remember the time when Klaus compelled Stefan to fed on Elena but he fought and was able to resist the compulsion and the blood lust because his love for Elena is greater than his cravings for blood and the same goes for Elena who never gave up on Stefan while he was on ripper binge. If it's not love for you then I don't know what is.
3. Stefan's instinct is to always protect Elena!
Throughout the six seasons of TVD, Elena was able to experience almost everything from being abducted to being tortured. She became a human blood bank, a leverage and was almost sacrificed in a creepy ritual to break the hybrid curse. She almost died a countless of times, actually died, rose from the dead and became a vampire. She lost a lot of people in her life and lost her humanity as well, but in whatever ordeal she was facing Stefan has always been there for her, always ready to save her even if it means risking his own life. Not their breakup nor Stefan's memory loss could stop him from saving Elena.
4. Stefan lets Elena make decisions!
Let's admit it, Elena sucks when it comes to decision making because she usually ends up making bad ones nevertheless Stefan never questioned her. He was always there to support her decisions even if he doesn't really agree with her. He never controlled her because he trusts her.
5. Stefan is has and always will be Elena's one true epic love!
What Stefan and Elena had was something epic because their lovestory was real, romantic, and filled with emotion and passion. It was grounded on love and trust, not sex nor compulsion. Although they are no longer together they would always love each other and that surely is something.
These are just few of the reasons why Elena should end up with Stefan. I could actually go on and on just to prove my point. That's why to all Stelena shipper, keep the fire burning and never abandon the ship because as long as there's TVD (even if Nina's leaving, anything is possible. It's TVD afterall), there is hope for Stelena.
